Meet the Coaches

Jaguars Triathlon Youth Club was developed to encourage youth of all ages to become more active in a fun team oriented environment through the growing sport of triathlon. The Club is focused on inspiring kids to be the best they can be. The Jaguars team of dedicated experts will encourage sportsmanship, camaraderie, and develop youth to perform to the best of there ability. 

The club is an official club member of USA Triathlon.

Shelley Flowers (Head Coach)

Shelley has been involved in coaching adult and youth triathlon for the past 10 years. She ran competitively for UCF where she graduated in 1989 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology.  She has been a competitive triathlete for the past decade and places in the top 5% of  her age group. Shelley is a Level 1 USATF Coach, Certified Personal Trainer  (CPT), Sport and Strength Conditioning Specialist (SSCS), Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI), and Youth Conditioning Specialist (YCS).

Crystal Lewis (Head Swim Coach)


Crystal is a USMS Level 2 Swim Coach, Level 1 USATF Coach and a Certified Personal Trainer. She loves to work with kids and has a strong background in swimming, her favorite activity in the sport of Triathlon. She started doing the swim portion of the relays in Triathlons and then met such a wonderful group of people during the races that she took on Coaching and Training for people that wanted to try the great sport. She loves to help others get over their fear of open water and "ocean swimming" and is an excellent coach with the Jaguars! 



Brian Andrews (Run Coach)

Brian started running in high school and continued running through his college career at Rochester Institute of Technology.  After graduating with a BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology, he moved to Marietta, Georgia and helped coach The Heat Track Club.  During this time, he coached the athletes by running with them, continued to compete in different track events, and completed his Level 1 USATF Coaching Certification.  After moving to Florida, Brian started a new journey by competing in triathlons.
Interesting Fact: Since he started running, Brian has competed in every running event from the 100m dash to the ½ marathon.  He has also competed in every length triathlon from the super sprint to the Ironman.






Julie Goforth - OYM Performance Center - Bike Coach

Julie has been competitive cyclists for the past 2 decades. She is dedicated to improving cyclists of all ages. A USA Cycling Level 1, Julie is dedicated to improving cyclists of all ages by combining state of the art training with her love of cycling.  Julie and her husband Matt founded OYM Performance Center because of their passion for cycling and as an outlet for their competitive spirit.

Michelle Deedrick (Run Coach)

Michelle Deedrick is in her fifth year of teaching elementary Physical Education.  She earned her Bachelors degree in both Health and Physical Education at Bethel University where she competed in Cross Country and Track.  During her NCAA career Michelle served as captain of her team, competed at the national level, and earned several leadership and MIAC sportsmanship awards.  She continued her education by earning her Masters of Science and coaching certificate through Emporia State University.  As a Physical Educator, Michelle can identify and correct mechanics that will allow athletes to be more successful but more importantly can make fitness fun and engaging for all learners.  Michelle's hobbies outside of teaching include snowboarding, playing volleyball, coaching basketball, and traveling with her husband and two dogs. 
Interesting Fact: Michelle has bunjee jumped off the tallest bridge in the world during her semester abroad in South Africa.
